I have seen it successfully done with a canister filter. But, like Ed said (hey I made a rhyme) I would wait. It is def more along the line of want vs needs. I have a 75 gal corner tank that I plan to make soon, and I want a water fall in it. I plan to use a canister. I am going to install a simple ball valve in the return to control the flow. I plan to drill holes in the bottom of the tankt then let the water drain into a reservoir under the tank, and pump it back into the tank. I have done it before with my 120 show tank.
