I just purchased a set of petri dishes and I was wondering whitch dish should I place inside the coconut hut
the dish or the lid? the side wall of the two are slightly different one is higher than the other or does it make a difference. also how often should I check for eggs? I really hate to disturb them when they actually start their breeding ritual. thank for you imput. |

You can use both. It just depends on the coconut size. As long as the dish fits under the hut they do not mind the height of the rim.
If I can tell they are under the hut or cannot tell where they are in the tank I will not disturb them. I often leave the eggs in anywhere from one to three more days before pulling. Often to make sure the male has done his job. If we are referring to leucs or tincs they can lay anywhere from ever 4-5 days to once every three weeks. After breedeing frenzies a break for the female is ideal sometimes after as little as 4 to 6 clutches. All that work draws a tremendous amount of energy and females can in a days time go from looking great to DOA. Last edited by evolvstll; 02-14-2010 at 01:41 PM.. |
