I finally got my first 2 dart frogs yesterday! I am really happy to share with everyone that I am a proud owner of 2 beautiful D. leucomelas that are about 4 months old. There home is a 30 gal. tank and I got plugged wtih there food and all the necessities.
I also want everyone to know I give special thanks to Philsuma! Thanks man! I hope U see this message, he is the man to help me get connected in finding my darts down here in South Florida. Now I really feel like I'm a part of U guys because I own my own frogs I can't keep my eyes off them they are really cool man! and my wife and kids like them too another plus! If anyone has any advise for me on my Leucs. let me know I'm open to hear them because I'm still new to this and I just want my frogs to be health and happy like me. Peace! |

Good news Carlos!
SoFl needs more hobbyists and I'm glad you are now one. The Leucs will be shy at first and hide a lot. Thats to be expected especially if they are small. Make sure you read a lot of info on FF culturing. You have the Drosophila store in Margate FL (sponser on here) to help you as well. Keep the temps under 80F....tough to do in SoFl this time of year and be sure to tell the small children that this is a "no touch" type of frog. Good luck and welcome aboard! Phil

It may be a bit late , but a quarantine period is a very important thing . Quarantine is the time to watch and test your frogs before putting them in-viv and possibly contaminating your viv if the frogs are found to be diseased . Many darts are found to have parasites.

Well congrats man! If you need any help I am located here in Atlanta, Ga. You can PM, email or call me as I have a very large collection of D. Leucamlous here at my house as well as many other species of amphibian. Anyone of us here will help you as best we can and I know how it feels to get your first frogs! Phil is very experienced and I have learned quite a bit myself from him in the past.
PS: For my Leucs I keep mine at 74-77F, nothing more or less and humidity at 75-100%, this is just what I do as there are a different ranges that are suitable for this species.

I will see what I can do. I am very weary about posting anything I can not protect, ie my pictures, etc. It is very rare I share photos and if you know me from other places you can see that it is something I have been doing for awhile.
You should see what I do about my writings when I submit them to companies for publishing. lol I will see if I have any good ones, but I have approximately 8 altogether, 5 of which might get sold off, which are being moved into a 125 I have at my inlaw's house if my wife is cool with it. I just received a 160, but I have no room so it is in storage. It was moved here yesterday.
