Question Long term feeding?

Hello,

My doubt or question is the following:
1-How do you feed your frogs during a vacation?
(i.e.For example your 1 or 2 weeks out and nobody is there to give you a hand)

you can possibly go 1 week without problems provided none of your frogs are froglets.

2 weeks....you should find someone to take them to....in plastic temp boxes.

2 weeks is pretty long and dangerous even with all the advice I could give you....

I am currently out town for about 2 weeks. I take 8 oz deli containers. I will scoop the maggots from a newer ff culture and put them in the container. Place the lid on and put 2-3 holes in the top just big enough for the flys to get out. If feeding froglets be careful not to make the hole too large or the will climb in and not find their way out. Then depending on the tank size and number of frogs I will put 1 or more of these containers in each tank. As the flys morph there is a continual food source. This has worked for years.
I use the vented lids on the 32 oz containers and will take a culture near the last week or two of its life, poke a few holes in the vents on top and place it in a tank.
Just make sure when feeding froglets that you use the appropriate flies, i.e. mels and not hydei..............

I have done this several times as well. Works like a charm.

When I bought my first frogs, I basically said goodbye to leaving town for more than a weekend or so. I'm just not comfortable leaving them alone. That and I have various other animals to worry about as well.

Traveling is overrated anyway!
