Arrow Insurance

I wasn't sure where to post this, but I wanted to make sure that this was seen by everyone. This section is for "General Dart Frog Related Topics" and I thought this warranted a mention in this section.

I saw this on another site and I thought it was important to address this issue elsewhere. If you have a large collection of animals, including Dart Frogs, make sure you look into seeing whether or not your home owners insurance will cover them if they are stolen or unfortunately perish in a home fire or disaster. My collection is worth a lot (Reptiles and Amphibians, etc.) and I never thought about this before and when I saw it I wanted to make sure people knew of this issue. Thanks for your time.

Good idea man. When you have over 5 tanks the electrical can get kinda scarey(plugs everywhere).

Well you just never know. I would buy the $20 transformer power supplies with multiple plugins that are made for computers to keep your equipment from shorting out and from lightening disturbances. My uncle had lightening hit is house and his XBOX360, TV, satellite dish, receiver and all sorts of stuff was garbage after that AND my cousin was slightly burned. A couple of thousands out and a few headaches I could do without. So be aware of the unexpected and protect yourself and your animals as you spent the money why not protect it. PS: The might be expensive the transformers, which by the way can be bought at Walmart, but just think how much your collections worth and your house if anything should happen.

I would definitely invest in the power strips that insure X amount of money because I would think that $50,000 for each strip that goes out is pretty well worth it. Those power strips cost about $20-$30. Oh to add one more thing insurance for reptiles is very expensive a lot more than car insurance I can tell you that...

Funny you mentioned that. I said that in another thread. Many collections are worth more than cars, mine is worth probably as much as a new nissan sentra. So I use those 20$ power strips; they cover about 50,000 or so in damage for like 5 years or something. Worth every penny.

I would say then that these power strips would be our form of insurance just replace them every 5 years or how ever long the power strip is covered for. Question and problem solved right I hope.
