Default Large groups 6-9

What is the best type of dart frog that can be housed together in large groups of 6-9 frogs. I've heard that d leucomelas do well in groups but are they any other types that can do well in fairly large groups?

The very best, hands down, for you would be terribilis. Leucs can fight like nobody's business.

I've had luck with auratus and even tincs. With the more agressive frogs like tincs. it's best to start them off young and watch for one that's not growing or not coming out to eat. you want to seperate it out right away. You can get several different color varieties of auratus too. The terribillis are the best for groups from what I hear and you can also find several different colors to make for an atractive display and who knows, you might get some cool crosses if the and when they breed. best of luck

I have 3 leucomelas and I want more. I think from what I have read that its to late to introduce more into my viv. Is there a way that I can put more in the viv with them all getting along? I was thinking maybe i could get more older one instead of baby. or would it be better to add more then one new one at the sam time?

It depends on a number of things.
What is the sex ratio of the ones you have now?
How large is the viv?
How old are the frogs you have now?
How well planted in the viv?
Do you want to breed them eventually?

1. I was read that the way to sex them is that the fat big ones are the females and to me it appers that i have two of them and one male.
2. 18in 18in 24in exo terra.
3. about a year old.
4.my viv is planted veary well well if they breed thats cool if not thats fine as well.

If you wanted to add more males , that may work out fine. One or two more. I would not add any more females and keep an eye on the ones you have right now. When they become mature they may fight.

Rich, I don't understand what you mean? I was giving my answer to groki21's question.

Kermit, I'd say maybe one more male if it's the same size. But even still, frogs react differently to new frogs to where if they've grown up with them they'll tollerate other frogs more. To tell if it's male with the Luecs you'd have to get it from someone who's watched and heard it calling. If you do introduce another watch him close for the first few days to see if the other frogs wrestle him. Should be fine if they're the same size.
