Yesterday I went to the local petstore, where I occasionally get pinheads. There was a young man in the store holding a deli cup with an adult male Tinc. The frog was very skinny and did not look well at all. He said that he did not have money for fruit flies and the frog wouldn't eat crickets. I gave him five bucks for the frog and told him to "beat it!" I was very upset, because this happens way too often. People buy animals and don't know how to take care of them.
Anyway, I got the lil guy to eat, but he hasn't really gained any weight. Is there any way to get him beafed up quick? I put the entire FF cup in the tank so he could eat the magets. Suggestion, Tips, or Tricks?

Hey marc you can actually help the poor frog by putting him in sugar water. It's pretty much an electrolyte bath to stimulate the frog to eat that should help him out. Sad to say too is that if the health of the frog is already declining and he shows no signs of recovery it's probably best to put the poor guy down instead of letting it suffer any longer. You can put oragel on the snout and that would let him go. Good luck Man...

Marc,
I would suggest getting a first aid kit from Dr. Frye this has worked wonders for me in the past. It's about $100.00 for all the meds you would need i.e parasitic control, antibiotic, appetite stimulant etc. This is his email: dr.frye.dvm@sbcglobal.net Andy |

Sorry to announce the sick Tinc didn't make it. I found him dead a few days ago. I am so pissed. I hate loosing frogs. To make it worse, I found a mummy last night. I have no idea how it got out. I can't tell if its my male tara imi or a young pumilio. They were both around the same size. I looked in two tanks and there was one frog missing from both. There are no gaps in the tanks anywhere. I have no idea how either would have got out.
Andy-I truly feel you pain when your yuris escaped. I am so sick about it. Not that I want to lose any of my frogs, but it seem like it always happens to your most expensive and coveted members of your collection. Damn!

Sorry for your lost man... Yeah pumilio's are great escape artist that why when you close the enclosure make sure the inhabitants are still there that's what I do everytime I close the lids. My Terribilis jumped right out just before I closed the lid luckily I saw it. Good Luck marc

I lost my blue auratus just like that i was out for 3 days and my mom was feeding my frogs and so the damn frog escaped from a little space between the glass top and blackplastic from the tank... i got back home i feed all the frogs and all frogs out eating and no activity going on at his tank so i was like no way ..
so i check every little spot in that frog tank and nothing so i start looking at the floor and i found his dead body dried man i was angry with my self for days.. that happened like 2 months ago ..... i had that frog for about a little more than 3 years my favorite frog man... |
