Talking Color Changing Frog Discovered

Ok so I saw this on another site but I thought it warranted a good look by everyone and not just the other Dart Frog site I pulled this off of...yes i pulled it off of another amphibian forum...anyway...this is a huge deal in India, so tell me what you think..

Rainbow Frog is Worshipped as God - Neatorama

The pic shown in the link above is a Scaphiophryne gottlebei (name of amphibian posted by RonSk from another site).

My take on it....

To be honest. I do not believe this to be true for a few reasons. Although mutations and genetic variances due occur in the wild, they are very rare to do things like this. What I mean is having a gene in an amphibian that can act like a chameleon. Hmmmm... ( A News Site: Color-Changing Frog Worshipped In India - Family News Story - KGTV San Diego and tons more like it.) My reasons...

The earliest date I can find on this article is June 8th, 2009. ( http://mschorlor.com/2009/06/08/colo...hipped-as-god/ ) I can not find any youtube videos, more pictures, etc. No new evidence has surfaced in a little over 2 weeks. If this was such an amazing phenomenon then why isn't there more too it. Like mentioned earlier the frog presented in the link above has been digitally altered. I am a Graphics Designer and I can alter pictures all day long that can make things appear a little different than they appear. I am not the only one. So I say unless more evidence is shown, I say this is false. This picture was not done by me but do you think this is real...( http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_nNj54igFok...20/image30.jpg ) Hmmm...no.

All Hail the Rainbow frog god!! To me it actually looks like a frog/chameleon. I myself am not a herpetologist but, if inverts in the ocean can change color and make light shows..who knows maybe this is real. Just my opinion.

Actually frogs are know to change colors but it is a gradual thing but if you read the articles carefully, they talk about the frogs go from solid colors to translucent (you can see their organs) in matter of hours. And also looking up the name of the species provided they do not have this capability. Now something I did not mention is that the frogs does have some variation in color but not very drastic. I smell cr@p in the air! LOL

Yeah and like the last link I posted. I half bull frog/croc baby mix! BTW I saw someone on Fauna Classifieds once trying to sell supposed babies for $2000 or higher on there once using that pic. LOL I thought it was the funniest thing. Are people that stupid, well I am not going to answer that.
