![]() Q & A at bottom. It's that time of year where I wonder how I got where I am today and how hard my journey was to get here. Every year I wonder how I can help others, but always find myself too busy to do it. So finally that day has stopped. I have known about this AWESOME not-for-profit group that helps unfortunate folks who want to better themselves. The concept is simple. 100% of the money you lend, is used to help out people who are Low Income Entrepreneurs. Over time they pay you back (descent success rate 97% repay) where you can either help out someone else or withdraw your money 100% back to your PayPal account (minus the PayPal fees of course). So I decided to start my own group and wanted to invite anyone who would like to participate. YOU do not need cash to help. You can join and help find people who do want to contribute. It's as little as $25 and you can search a huge database and see all the people you could help. There is statistics, figures, etc. to help you make your decision along the way. Check it out. If your interested, just click the link below to see my group and register for an account it's free. KIVA: Team Ghost Frog What Is Kiva? Overview | The Kiva Story <-- link We Let You Loan to Low Income Entrepreneurs Kiva's mission is to connect people through lending for the sake of alleviating poverty. Kiva is the world's first person-to-person micro-lending website, empowering individuals to lend to unique entrepreneurs around the globe. The people you see on Kiva's site are real individuals. When you browse entrepreneurs' profiles on Kiva, choose someone to lend to, and then make a loan, you are helping a real person make great strides towards economic independence and improve life for themselves, their family, and their community. Throughout the course of the loan (usually 6-12 months), you can receive email journal updates and track repayments. Then, when you get your loan money back, you can relend to someone else. Kiva partners with existing microfinance institutions. In doing so, we gain access to entrepreneurs from communities world-wide. Our partners are experts in choosing qualified entrepreneurs. That said, they are usually short on funds. Through Kiva, our partners upload their entrepreneur profiles directly to the site so you can lend to them. When you do, not only do you get a unique experience connecting to a specific entrepreneur on the other side of the planet, but our microfinance partners can do more of what they do, more efficiently. Kiva provides a data-rich, transparent lending platform. We are constantly working to make the system more transparent to show how money flows throughout the entire cycle, and what effect it has on the people and institutions lending it, borrowing it, and managing it along the way. To do this, we are using the power of the internet to facilitate one-to-one connections that were previously prohibitively expensive. Kiva creates an interpersonal connection at low costs due to the instant, inexpensive nature of internet delivery. Q & A Just some clarification as their is obviously a lot here to digest.. 1) You don't have to have money to join this group or spend money to help others. The account is free. If you know people who would like to help then ask them to join the group and help. The figures provided were just to show you what one group had done to help. Not all of them are contributing money wise. 2) Kiva.org Philadelphia NBC 10 - Rupa Modi - An explanation. 3) The risks. - Risk and Due Diligence 4) Information on Microfinance Banks From An Expert. 5) Why are the interest rates high with the Microfinance Banks? - Link 6) How does it work? - Link Any questions just ask. Thanks and sorry for the confusion.
