Hi Folks,
The site has been up and running for a little over 3 months now, and the beta phase is over. I wanted to take this time to thank everyone. I really appreciate everyone here and all the support I have received. I, know it's in my signature, but I really do mean it when I say, without you, there will would be no DFF. Now, I'd like to open the floor and hear what the 183 members of DFF have to say about how things are running here on the site. I invite your to leave your comments and constructive feedback. Through your feedback, I will make every effort to ensure that being part of this community is a pleasant experience. Lte us all "Teach, Learn, and Share" That's it. I will leave this thread open until the end of the month. Thanks, Marc Knox

I honestly have nothing really to say that would make this site better. It has been a pleasure posting here, because every request that has been made has been met with a level and fair head. The freedom to speak our minds with factual and also sometimes heated debates has brought this site to life. Well that's all I got.

I would say....try to add a feature that encourages people to list their location. i know everyone is all paranoid lately about revieling where they live....and rightly so.....but it is vastly more helpful in our hobby to be able to network and know who is nearby.
Also....maybe add some national flags to the profile / avatar like in Caudata forum....looks really neat to see some foreign flags.

Well now there is 192 members as I'm typing this so I think for that amount of members in this time frame that's pretty good. That's an average of 2 people joining per day. I'm glad that we are out of the beta stage and means that were a full fledge site. There is really no recommendation of improving the site because it has almost everything that one would want. I think my main concern is that not many of the new members are posting. We usually have the same group of people posting or starting threads, which i for one am part of but it's good to see others chime in once in a while... Im thinking of ways in which members would tune in more to this site and choose this site over others but I'm still thinkin so that's why I haven't brought any thing up yet... The web site is Fresh and up to date with great articles and eye candy but I cant figure out what's missing which probably is nothing but that's just me..... Nonetheless this is by far better than most forums I've joined concerning animals.

Thanks for the comments so far.
Phil-I am currently looking for the mod that that allows you to add flags. I think it's cool too. Ed-I often look at the "who's online" part of the site, and from time to time there are many of visitors lurking. It is always difficult to get members to ost. Most folks don't want to be in the community, they just want to visit and absorb the information. If you find the answer to get new members to post, send me a pm. We can market the idea to other forum owners and get rich together. I will still keep my eyes open.

IME the visitors are bots (the good kind) that are archiving this information for say, google search results. If you do an IP search on them, you will find alot of times they are from a microsoft, google or CA ISP.
Maybe its just me, but it loads kinda slow ? I personally would love to see the forums all by themselves, then all the other album, video's, articles and what not either below it or in another area that I could explore. For it to load each time I stop by is kinda pointless, as I could stop by 4-10 times per day, but the video's or album's aren't updated that often. I also tend to peruse while at work, so the faster I can get in and out is sometimes better, while I am at home surfing, it would be great to look through the extra content.

I have been a DFF for a awhile now and i hardly ever go to any other site because of the friendly atmosphere we have here. This is my new home and plan to be here for quite some time. I would like to Thanks Marc for being a good host and keeping things on track. I also have been thinking on how to get more"guests" to register, But i think that will come with time. Kuddos Marc!
