Default Two More Exo Done (Pic Heavy)

Hey guys, here are Exos number 5 and 6. These are a little different. I only siliconed two pcs of Malaysian drift wood to each side of the tank and jazzed it up. Here are the pcs.

Just the wood

Ok, with broms

Both with all the plants

Ok... so I have finished 5 of the 6 on a temp stand. Working on the last one.

BTW-The way the 18 cube won't be part of the rack.

Nice Viv's!! I noticed you used the Styrofoam background. You used Silicone to hold wood? I might be scared to do that seeing when wood shrinks and expands it may loosen itself. I would use GS and then cover with Coco, just like when I build background. I like the way it looks and might try to copy yours. Nice Viv's marc!

Actualy I used three different methods on two tanks each. Two of them I did not use any Silicon or GS. Just driftwood. ALL NATURAL. Two I used GS to hold the wood to the sides, then covered with my coco mix. On the last two, which are the ones in the pics of this thread, I did not use any GS at all. I used a generous portion of silicone to glue the wood directly to the glass. I only tried this because I tried to take a pce out of a tank I built a few years ago and the tank broke before the glass did. So, I think it's there to stay. It's been wet for about a week now and hasn't losened up yet.

Simplicity is the best method and i see you do that with your vivs marc... I'm actually going to post a new tread of my new exo-terra build with no background and no water feature which I'm usually doing with my vivs... This style would be a Euro-style viv and should come out Ace if I do it right... I'll keep you guys posted and Marc what do you plan on keeping in your new homes...

Nice looking vivs Marc . Water sections look great . I dont put them in anymore due to a brown slime algae I get from them in all my water sections and on some driftwood .

I plan to keep pumilio in all 6 of my exo builds. I only put a corner reservoir to allow for occasionally draining the excess water out of the tank. Two of them do not have any water feature at all.

What type of tops did you use for your exo's. Did you fabricate your own glASS TOPS??
