Default foggy looking glass??

I was thinking and when I redid my tank I took all the water out and cleaned it really really well. when it was drying the glass was extremely foggy looking. but when you add water back to it the fogginess went away. Is there any solution that you guys know that will fix this so when I set up my tank on the 1st I wont be looking through foggy glass?

LOL sorry im full of questions :-/

Hey Neurotic i know what you mean.I just cleaned a 29g that i am making for some Azureus. Best thing to use that is frog friendly is a lemon.Cut the lemon in half and just rubb the glass with it(scrub). After you have cleaned area with lemon juice clean with water and let dry.Let me know if this helps.

Yup that fogginess is called calcium deposits and lemon is acidic to where it breaks the alkaline down. Use some elbow grease though...

Scratch the vinager, the lemon works. Try it. But it has to be a real lemon, not bottled lemon juice. And, don't worry about asking questions, no one will give you a hard time about that here. Look at it like this, your questions may save a life,

are you cleaning with RO or distilled water? If not you might be defeating the purpose.

clthomps your right. My tap water leaves spots on my glass, you should use RO water.

Spots on the glass are hard water mineral deposits. It's like your shower stalls and what not. RO has none of that, but if your not careful it can be expensive. I haven't really found a safe way to clean the glass naturally that I am comfortable with. Any suggestions would be helpful to me as well as the rest of us. LOL In the past, I can't believe I am saying this but I have used aquarium water to clean my frog glass but found RO was a better choice. Don't judge think about what the water is, filtered water with no mineral deposits to a degree I guess.

I have used the bottled lemon and have had luck with it. The Brand was REALEMON, spelled just like that. It does take a little scrubbing but does work.
