Hello All,
Thought I would take a moment to introduce myself here. My name is Justin Fournier, I have been a keeper of various animals most of my life and most of my professional career has been in various fields related to such. As far as Frogs go, I caught some awesome Bullfrogs in a Ditch in Richmond BC when I was probably 8 or so, but I began seriously keeping Herps in 1995 when I bred my first normal Cornsnake, which I got as a hatchling from a Pet Store. Up to that time I mostly caught local things and kept them for a bit then returned them to where I got them. I mostly caught tiny frogs I never did id on Vancouver Island. I also kept various local frogs in a tank I set up in my class in grade 5-7, typical kid stuff. Since the 90s I have personally kept and bred a variety of Boas, Kings, Milks, Corns, Leos, Bearded Dragons, Fat Tails, Day Geckos, Chameleons, Red-eared sliders, Various Frogs & Salamanders, the oddest thing probably being a pair of Japanese Ground Geckos. I suppose because I was always breeding things at work, I was never into breeding at home as much. I was always more into getting animals to thrive in captivity rather then their reproduction. For a number of years I did not actually have any personal animals as it was not possible as I was working over seas. However a couple years ago I returned to Canada to pursue another career which has nothing to do with animals, and since then the breeding bug has hit me again. Since then I have been slowly branching out into the private sector here locally and in Canada/USA as a whole. That is what brings me here! One area I never got to focus much is Dart Frogs. I worked for a wholesaler for a while and cared for darts as they came through, but was one of those things I just never got to get going at home. Now that the hobby has progressed to a point where I will no longer have swarms of escaped fruit flies invading my garbage can, sink or various other locations in my house, it's time I brought some home again. I look forward to many good discussions! |

Thanks for the welcome everyone!
Leuc, No, at the moment I do not have any frogs. It's been about 15 years since I've had one. I do have 12 Vivs but no frogs yet ![]() Lance, RPN suggested I come check this site out, I had never seen it before. I plan to ask some of my more advanced topics here and hope to reach a wider audience then Canadart and hopefully progress the discussions! Thanks for the offers of help everyone, I will surely be posting If I can be of service, let me know! |

Circumstances have dictated that unfortunately I will not be able to get any Frogs right away. Till then I will work on perfecting cultures and continuing to mature my Viv's. No big deal, I have no problem letting the Viv's establish for 6 months before anything goes in them!
That being said, I do appreciate the well wishes and hope to get at least SOMETHING in one of them before too long! |
