Default Hello

Im muc, I have always had an interest in amphibians. I live in Ramona, California and I'm 14. Ramona is really a desert climate, so there aren't too many frogs out here, but there's some.
Little story; 4 years ago when I was ten, there was big rain here. Now, in a field behind my house theres a little depression where large puddles form. That year after the rain, so many frogs were born, that just by walking anywhere within 50 feet of the pond, you were stepping on hundreds of frogs. It was insane. So, me and my siblings had the bright idea of selling them, at 25 cents a piece. Well, we ended up making 40 bucks and once in a while, to this day, we still have people at our door asking if we still sell frogs.
Anyway, that's my story, I'm mostly here to learn about vivariums more in depth currently I have no frogs, but a 40 gallon tank among many other 10 gallon ones.

Hi Muc,

Welcome to the site. I used to love to explore the reptiles and amphibians outside, near my house when I was your age. If you get a chance, see if you are able to post a few pics of the frogs that you were catching and selling. It would be good to know what type of frog it is, for future reference. The climate is rapidly changing and the same little frogs you sell today may not be in such abundance in the very near future. Almost 15 years ago I used to collect different types of salamanders at a local creek. There was a salamander practically under every rock. I recently went back to the creek and I was only able to find 2!.
Ask questions. Learn as much as you can before getting any frogs. And remember, the goal is to keep your frogs alive for as long as possible

Again, welcome to DFF.

I appreciate everyone here. Without you, there would be no DFF. Thank you for your support.
