Hello everyone! I'm new to the forum and I must say it is a very nice forum! Love the looks of it. Some of you may know me from other forums (dendroboard, talk to the frog, etc.) but for those who don't let me give a brief introduction. My name is Hayden Coffey. I'm 29 years old and live in South Georgia. I have been into herps almost my entire life. When I was only 2 years old my parents said I used to ask to go gopher tortoise hunting in which my Dad would always take me. We would go to the woods and almost always catch one. My Dad would let me play with it for a few hours but we would always let him go right where we found him. Only a few years later I caught a group of Eastern Box turtles and even successfully bred them! I was not even 10 years old, but at that moment I was hooked for life! As I grew up my love for herps never left me. When I was 23 years old I decided to join the U.S. Marine Corps. I ended up being stationed at Camp Pendleton, California. While reading Reptiles magazine one day, I noticed an add for LLL Reptile. To my surprise LLL was actually located in Oceanside, California, which was only about a mile away from where I lived. So I took a trip looking for LLL Reptile. I found it and was amazed by the selection of Reptiles and Frogs they had. Within a few months I bought my first dart frogs, 2 blue and black Auratus. Ever since then I've been hooked! My hobby is now an obsession!

Hi Hayden,
Welcome to DFF. I had similar experiences growing up, but I got hooked, while in the ARMY at Fort Bragg, NC. Please take a few moments to add an avatar and signature, as well as create a gallery in your profile and share a few pics of your collection. Again, welcome to the site. Glad to have you here.

"My hobby is now an obsession!"
That is a common phrase that all serious dart frog hobbyists use, welcome to the world of dart frogs! ![]()

Yeah trust me I am all too familiar with this "obsession". I've been keeping darts for 6 years now and the obsession just keeps getting worse! haha! Knoxter, I know you've heard this before but thanks for your service. My brother is in the Army (been in going on 25 years now) and is currently stationed at Fort Bragg himself. I'll get some pics up when I get a chance. I actually need to take some new pics.
