I blame you people! You sucked me into the hobby! haha... Ive always loved building semi aquatic terrariums but just finished my first vivarium a couple weeks ago. After reading your forums i knew the only specie worthy enough of my finished project were dart frogs. I did some research and i must say THANK YOU because i found a lot of information i needed here.Things like... I would have just started mixing species and thinking nothing of it. Even the pet store guy said it would be fine. Anyhow, after a few days of researching must have and must do information, I chose my frog. I was in love with the colors of Leucomelas. I called around and found some local breeders as well as a couple shops that carried them. We found a Reptile shop in Temecula, CA that had quite a few in stock. They all looked like pretty healthy and happy frogs. The shop actually had a impressive selection of reptiles. I purchased two Leucs and they are doing just great. Possibly looking to purchase another here soon. The hobby has sucked me in. I culture my own fruit flys and that as well is going great. I love everything about these guys. From culturing their food, to feeding time, or to just stare at the tank learning their personalities. you guys sucked me in but mostly want to thank all of you for your advice and input. I look forward to things to come and being a part of this forum. Also, I'm located in southern CA. If there are any venues in the area i would be greatly interested, Thanks again!

Hi, Welcome,
I would strongly suggest running fecals on your frogs by an experienced dart vet. Not sure if you quarantined , but if not you may want to read up on that issue. Strongly recommended also. Many/most of the pet shops and stores get their frogs from anybody who will sell them to the store cheap enough. In doing so they are more prone to have frogs which may have skipped testing/treating for disease. Glad to see you are enjoying them already. Leucs make good beginner frogs. Rich
