Default I want to get into dart frogs but I want to do my research first before i get into it

Hey I am new to this forum and I want to get into dart frogs but I want to do my research before I get way serious about this. I was first wondering is there anybody located in southern california who could help me out with supplies or even getting the frogs from a good breeder or a good reptile shop. I live in ventura county california and I have looked and there is nothing close by me. I tried reptile depot but those guys didnt seem like they new much about frogs and they were kinda rude. But probably cause I just kept asking questions and they didnt know the answers. I want to do this thing right and not go into it half ass. I want to make a nice big vivarium at least 40 gal +. with a waterfall and stream and make it nice to look at, and nice for the frogs. I see some people with little ass tanks with a bunch of frogs and just a couple of plants, and I dont want to be like that. I have been saving money and so I want to spend a couple of grand and really make it worth to have. Any help is appreciated and thanks for your time and consideration

Welcome, I'm glad to see your not just jumping right in. There are a lot of local froggers in your area. There are occasional meets in your area and there are a couple big reptile shows coming up in the summer. Your best bet will be to look through all the info on the site. With the kind of money you want to spend you will deffinetly be able to do it right. You could probably do a few tanks if you wanted. Also make sure you master breeding fruit flies, unless you plan on buying them all of the time. Your best bet in getting the frogs will be from sponsors and members from the forum.

Default thanks for the info

Yeah I was thinking I would have to order from the internet but is that really safe for the frogs everybody always says dont stress out the frogs I would really like it if I could pick them out myself. And then talk to the breeder a bit to get helpful tips and see how they have there stuff set up so I could see if I was headed in the right direction and able to get the healthiest frogs available

I dont want to do a few tanks I was hoping I could get one big tank, and put in a few different species but I know people will bitch about that. But I am not intrested in breeding these frogs they are just to look at. If there is anybody who could help me with helpful hints on how to keep a succesful mixed tank that would be appreciated and dont be scared to give me advice because mostly everybody says dont do it. But people do it and have had success so i wanna see how they did it and what worked for them. Please dont get bitchy people I am simply saying people do it and I wanna hear what they did to keep there frogs succesful.

Default i have tried dendro forums

I have tried dendro forums but thats where everybody seemed prejudice against my idea. I just want to get help with my frogs and not be arguing with people. Those guys get all bitchy sorry if I offended but thats what it looked like to me I saw how nobody could speak for themselves and just jumped on that guys jellys back, and started to be dream crushers. I just want to get help for my frogs and I have money to do it right. So people can help me or not. I am still looking for breeders in the Los Angeles area I live just north of L.A. in ventura county so if there is breeders or suppliers please let me know

Hi Jimmy,
The best help for your frogs, since you asked would to read until you don't have to ask anybody else how to set up something everybody else (excepting those who really don't know how to set up a successful mixed tank) is telling you not to attempt.
You are not ready. Most are not ready to mix species.
If you want info on mixing, there are about just under a thousand (maybe over, actually ...maybe waaay over acutually) ) posts on the topic just waiting to be read.
Oh, and prejudice is simply to pre-judge. I am not prejudiced against mixing. I speak from experience.

I'm writing this with the rather large assumption this is not a huge troll...
