Just want to say a quick hello to everyone. It's a pleasure to be here. I am a long time frog enthusiast, and raised Red-Eyed Tree Frogs years ago. I have always admired the PDF's and now after a TON of reading I'm currently in the early stages of constructing a viv from an 18x18x18 Exo-Terra I purchased dirt cheap. Hopefully a couple/few months down the road I will be a proud owner of a pair of Yellow Head Tincs...to start
. Thanks to all for the extremely useful existing information. I've learned so much from your experiences. |

Wuz up Neil! Welcome to DFF! Where in SoFl R U located? I'm in Boynton Beach.
I own 3 azureus and 2 Leucomelas, they R really cool man. I've seen U post on another thread. Perhaps I'm not too experienced but enough to know how to feed them and house them (got the basics down packed). If there is anyway that I can assist U let me know. I know there is really good help here and others with more experience that can help too. BTW, it's Phil who helped me find my dart frogs down here. If U R interested I know a friend down here who breeds and sells some darts frogs who I can connect U with. He might not have Yellow Head Tincs though. It would be cool to have more fellow froggers down here. With U will be 3 dart froggers( including myself) that I know down here in SoFl and if Phil moves down here. Let me know how things go! |

Hey Carlos, it's a pleasure to "meet" you and it's great to be a part of the forum. I couldn't be any closer to you geographically, I'm in Delray Beach. Thanks for welcoming me. I'm certain you have much more experience with PDF's that I do. Although I did raise RETF's years ago I'm anxious to get into PDF side of the frog hobby. I have read several books, researched and have been on the forums for a while now but I have a long way to go.
Thank you so much for offering to assist me, I just may take you up on it . It's clear the members have been extremely helpful to newbies starting out. That information has helped me tremendously. I am still approximately a couple of months away from making a frog purchase. I want to make sure everything is running smoothly in the viv first, get my fruit flies going, etc. Just this weekend I ordered some food grade silicone from a link I found (I read all about the issue with some GE silicones), have a few pieces of Malaysian DW coming and picked up a few cans of GS. I have a basic design in mind for my first try and I hope to get started this week. I appreciate the possible connection with a local breeder. Does this person breed any tincs that you know of? That is definitely the way direction I will be heading. I love the Yellow Heads but the Yellow Sips are impressive as well...we shall see, I still have work to do before that decision is made. I will absolutely update you on my progress (possibly with a new viv construction thread). I can't thank you enough for reaching out and I look forward to keeping in touch with you. All my best, Neil |
